About Population Health

Population Health is an approach aimed at improving the health of an entire population. It involves improving the physical and mental health outcomes of patients, while reducing health inequalities within a defined population. It includes action to reduce the occurrence of ill-health, including addressing wider determinants of health, and requires working with communities and partner agencies.

The Population Health Fellowship program at Boa Vida Family Medicine Residency (“BVFMR”) in Aberdeen, MS provides education and research in many practical aspects of population health with a focus on Scholarly Research and Data Analysis.

The BVFMR Population Health Fellowship is dedicated to teaching the Fellow an interdisciplinary culture from the outset of training.

Our program focuses on value-based metrics, equipping fellows with the insights and skills necessary to deliver resource conscious, quality care. The Fellows engage in scholarly research in health outcomes, health disparities, and clinical interventions.
