Curriculum
The Boa Vida Family Medicine Program is a unique program focused on developing Family Medicine physicians trained to serve a rural population with compassion, quality, and inclusiveness that have fiscal responsibility. The curriculum is focused heavily on continuity of care and population health. Partnering with Qualexa Healthcare, BVFMR Residents are given a panel of patients to follow through their three years of learning to optimize health outcomes using HEDIS measures while managing medical loss. The BVFMR curriculum has two rotations in Practice Management and Population Health. The goal of the program is to develop physician leaders of the future who are well-prepared to manage risk and health outcomes.
The Boa Vida Family Medicine Residency Program provides Residents with outstanding training and skill development in a rural setting. We pride ourselves in delivering evidence-based, culturally aware, and patient-centered care. Residents can expect to build community, develop autonomy, and grow as leaders.
Boa Vida Family Medicine Residency’s unique program curriculum trains Residents in value-based care and population health management, focusing on controlling medical loss while maintaining quality measures.
Boa Vida Family Medicine Residency strengthens and improves access to primary care throughout the Golden Triangle Region of Mississippi. In addition, Residents will work with skilled physicians in the specialties of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Pediatrics at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven, MS. This broad experience exposes Residents to the wide-ranging scope of primary care and health systems while still meeting the diverse needs of the local community.
